About the Position We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineering Manager with a solid background in Python and cloud technologies. You are someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading a team of dedicated engineers to create an impactful application. Your technical expertise, combined with your ability to manage a small team, is just what we need to deliver our new search and compare application. If you are passionate about databases, Kubernetes, and perhaps even have some experience with machine learning, this could be the perfect role for you. With all that in mind, most importantly you have fun with it! Responsiblities Lead a team of two software engineers to design, develop, and deploy our new search and compare application. Work in collaboration with the product manager to determine project scope, priorities, and timelines. Provide technical leadership and guidance to the team, including code reviews and sharing of best practices. Contribute to the architecture, design, and coding of the application. Manage and optimize applications’ deployment to Kubernetes clusters. Identify, track, and correct software defects. Ensure software performance, quality, and responsiveness. Requirements BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as a Software Engineering Manager or Lead Software Engineer. Working knowledge of Python and fluent in at least one computer language such as Java/C#/Python/Javascript Experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies. Expertise in relational database technologies, SQL, and performance tuning. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes. Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and communication skills. Proven track record in managing small teams and delivering high-quality software on time. Bonus Experience with non-relational databases such Document Databases. Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and tools. Experience with Elasticsearch or other search platforms.
