The Portal DevOps team is responsible for the Akamai Control Center cloud-based platform, collaborating across our organization to ensure the availability and performance of our platform and services. You’ll be responsible for the smooth operation, up-time and optimal performance of the ACC services and infrastructure. Your team will collaborate to define, maintain, and improve the Portal operation and customer supportability. As a Site Reliability Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for: Leading a team of Site Reliability Engineers in developing and executing product operation and customer supportability plans Aggregating the customer signal to drive products improvements, taking responsibility for internal and external customer escalations Analyzing the improvement of ACC availability and performance, and resolving deviations from baseline state Driving and managing design and development of internal automation, debugging and monitoring tools and solutions Partnering with SRE leaders covered by Portal DevOps team in collaborative drive of shared goals Managing on-call duty for the US team, and act as a point of escalation Do what you love To be successful in this role you will: Have 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or related discipline, or its equivalent Have management experience overseeing Site Reliability/Operations/Technical Support teams, and experience with metrics analysis reporting (SLO’s/KPI’s) Experience working in large distributed systems built in microservice architecture in a public cloud environment Demonstrate fluency in Linux/UNIX computing environments (in areas such as: administration, scripting and automation, internals, etc.) Experience using technologies and orchestration frameworks such as Docker, Kubernetes, Mesos/Marathon with corresponding monitoring/logging/performance analytics tools Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Apache Cassandra), and basic understanding of Java-based technologies Work in a way that works for you FlexBase, Akamai’s Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world. Compensation Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The base salary for this position ranges from $134,466 – $214,782/year; a candidates salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
