Position Description Emtec is seeking a Senior Software Developer with experience in Node.JS/TypeScript, microservices, and cloud technologies. In this role you will be joining a dynamic and growing team to perform full stack development on a Cloud based SaaS product. As a Senior Software Developer on the team, you will be doing hands-on software development, and also leading a team of 3-5 Software Developers. Additional responsibilities may include code reviews, estimations and sprint planning, project delivery, etc. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about software development and enjoys hands-on coding, but is also looking for leadership responsibility as well. As we are expanding our software teams in North America, this is an exciting time to join our growing team! Core technology Stack: In this role you will primarily be working with Node.JS and TypeScript on a Cloud based SaaS product (hosted on Azure Kubernetes cluster). You will be doing hands on software development, and as a full stack developer you will be working primarily with Node.JS to build backend services, as well as React framework to do front end development. You will also be developing GraphQL APIs and server side applications that are integrated using Kafka. Workplace: Remote, working from home Employment Type: This is a fulltime position with benefits Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Leading a team of 3-5 software Developers, which may include code reviews, estimations and sprint planning, project delivery, etc. Collaborating with the Product Manager and other developers to design and build a real-time, web-based system for freight management, including Node.JS, React UI, and other microservices Ensuring interfaces function quickly and beautifully across devices Building GraphQL APIs Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code Engaging in the full development life cycle including architectural design and testing Staying current on software engineering trends & tools, and be practical but open-minded in applying them Maintaining a high bar for quality and performance of your product with vigorous attention to detail and unit testing Continuously improving how we design, build, and ship software as a highly functional team Must Have Skills: 5+ years of experience developing Node.JS applications Experience developing Web APIs using NodeJS, and experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs Experience with Express or Nest Frameworks Strong proficiency in TypeScript Familiarity with Microservices Architecture Experience performing Node Unit Testing Experience with React Framework Preferred Skills: Prior experience in a lead role is a plus Exposure to system design is a plus Emtec is an Equal Opportunity Employer US citizens and those authorized to work in the United States are encouraged to apply #LI-REMOTE #LI-EB1
