Job Title Senior Java Developer (REMOTE) Job ID 27709412 Work From Home Yes Work Remote Yes Location New York City, NY Other Location Description Summary: The Java developer builds software (i.e., web applications) using Java, JavaScript, Java Beans, JSP and other web languages and technologies. The developers create applications from scratch, configure existing systems and provide user support. The developer writes functional code with a sharp eye for spotting defects. The developer should be a team player and excellent communicator. Developers analyze customer needs and develop overall concept and design objectives. The developer must be able to create software in a variety of programming and for a variety of IT software applications. The developer’s goal is to work with internal teams to design, develop and maintain software. Required Education: Bachelors Degree or higher in a business or technical discipline Required Years of Experience: 8 years, or 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education Responsibilities: Collaborate with internal teams to produce software design and architecture Participate in Agile SCRUM ceremonies including Story Point Estimation, Backlog Grooming, Sprint/Release Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives Write clean, scalable code based on requirements and design Unit Test and deploy applications and systems Revise, update, refactor and debug code and improve existing software Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) Serve as an expert on applications and provide technical support Minimum Qualifications: Excellent knowledge of software development and user interface web applications Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing Excellent knowledge and experience working with the following languages and technologies: Java, JavaScript, Java Beans, JSP, JMS, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, CSS, DHTML, HTML, XML Excellent knowledge of architecture styles/APIs (SOAP, REST, RPC) Experience with Jira or Maven Experience with containerization tools Kubernetes or Docker Excellent analytical and organization skills An ability to understand front-end users requirements and a problem-solving attitude Excellent verbal and written communication skills Preferred Qualifications: CMMI Maturity Level 3, ISO 9001:2015 or 9001:2001, and ITIL experience a plus Has high standards, results oriented, and a commitment to delivering high quality software on time Experience with FHIR, Ruby, AWS, IaaS, and Paas Knowledge of 508 Compliance requirements SAFe Certification Experience supporting the Federal Government, VA, or Healthcare IT ThunderYard Solutions is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
