In this role, you will combine your diverse technical and industry background with a deep understanding of how technology impacts business environments. Responsibilities Own overall technical relationship with pre-assigned accounts Develop proposals and high-level designs with input from Solutions Architects. Identify customer business and technical requirements for opportunities. Participate in all internal sales meetings as the technical representative. Develop Statements of Work (SOW) for all professional services activity Participate in validating the strategy for responding to RFPs. Obtain and maintain vendor certifications required to support Insight certification requirements or goals. Report regularly to management on time spent, revenue, billable activities, and services. Track opportunities being worked, preparing weekly report on revenue, gross profit, and services associated with the efforts of the Architect. What you’ll need to succeed Strong working knowledge of data center technologies. Familiarity with most cloud providers. Understanding of Disaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity. Strong functional understanding of Automation & Orchestration technologies. Wide technology background with emphasis on data center technologies and familiarity with cloud hyper-scalers. Ability to dissect complex business and technical challenges and develop Insight proposals. Relevant degree or work experience. Industry or vendor certifications in two or more Insight practice areas. Strong communication skills, including room presence and peer leadership. Please have some combination of the following skillsets: Cloud Platforms: A strong understanding of major cloud platforms like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or other cloud providers. Proficiency in deploying and managing cloud resources, services, and infrastructure. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources. Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Knowledge in setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, to automate deployments. Containerization and Orchestration: Strong knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes. Scripting and Programming: Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Python, or Ruby to automate tasks and develop infrastructure-related scripts. Knowledge of programming languages like Java, JavaScript, or Go is a plus. Monitoring and Logging: Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), or Splunk to monitor system performance, detect issues, and troubleshoot incidents. Networking: Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, and VPNs. Experience with Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) configurations and security groups in cloud environments. Security Best Practices: Knowledge of security principles and best practices in cloud and DevOps environments, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and securing cloud resources. Git Version Control: Proficiency in using Git for version control, including branching, merging, and resolving conflicts, to manage codebase changes effectively. GitOps experience is a plus. Database Management: Experience in deploying and managing databases in the cloud, such as Amazon RDS, Azure SQL Database, or Google Cloud SQL. Performance Optimization: Ability to analyze system performance and identify bottlenecks, optimizing resources and configurations to achieve high scalability and efficiency. Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and incidents efficiently, ensuring quick resolution. Collaboration and Communication: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and stakeholders. Cloud Security Certifications: Certifications like AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or Google Cloud DevOps Engineer can demonstrate a candidate’s cloud and DevOps expertise. Agile and DevOps Methodologies: Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps principles to foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and continuous delivery.
