DTCC offers a flexible/hybrid model of 3 days onsite and 2 days remote (onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays and a third day unique to each team or employee). The impact you will have in this role: Lead Application Support Engineer role will be responsible for Level 3 technical support and development of applications within the IT Solutions Delivery department for the Repository and Derivatives Services (RDS) area. As part of Level 3 application support team contribute into project initiatives for APAC, EMEA or US regions for our Global Trade Repository (GTR) and Securities Financing Transaction Regulation (SFTR) systems Highly technical position with an emphasis on providing expert consultative services to development teams. Contribute to technology-specific best practices & standards; contribute to success criteria from design through deployment, including, reliability, cost-effectiveness, performance, data integrity, maintainability, reuse, extensibility, usability and scalability; contribute expertise on significant application components, vendor products, program languages, databases, and operating systems; complete the plan by building components, testing, configuring, tuning, and deploying solutions. Your Primary Responsibilities: Partner with development teams to provide input during the design and development phases of the SDLC Identify and implement efficiencies and improvements to standard processes and procedures such as automation through scripting, programming, etc. Follow Change Management procedures, to facilitate pre-production/production deployment plans including any vendor software upgrades Collaborate during Root Cause Analysis with any follow-ups that would require application changes to prevent an issue from reoccurring Provide application coverage for alerts in a timely fashion with business impact assessments Review and keep live documentation up to date to provide our support colleagues with the most up-to-date documentation Facilitate information for any ongoing audits Review, understand and understand Business Continuity plans Translate business requirements into software solutions Participate in detailed code reviews with a goal of illustrating quality engineering practices and to produce the highest quality code possible **NOTE: The Primary Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above. ** Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Bachelor of Science/Engineering 6+ years of proven track record in application development and system analysis Talents Needed for Success: Expert knowledge in Java/ JEE and coding standard processes. Excellent design and coding skills in Web Services, Spring, Soap/Rest APIs, and Java Script Frameworks for modern web applications. Very strong Python foundation: web frameworks, event-driven programming and proficient in debugging techniques Perl scripting/debugging Strong SQL/PLSQL Developer Skills (ORACLE): Execution plans, understanding indices, partitions, parallel execution, and strong debugging skills Experience in developing and using AWS cloud stack (S3, SQS, Redshift, etc.) is a huge plus Experience with and understanding Data Warehouse implementations for Business Reporting is a big plus Comfortable in operating in a Unix environment and has experience with shell scripting (bash, ksh, sh, etc.) Understanding DevOps techniques and practices like Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Test Automation, Build Automation and Test Driven Development (TDD) and tools like Jenkins, CloudBees, Git Repositories, etc. Understanding the need for Code Coverage and Code Quality.
