Overview TRC Intelligent Grid Solutions is seeking a highly skilled EMS/SCADA Database Lead for a project in the electric transmission & distribution utility domain. The EMS/SCADA Database Lead will manage the technical aspects of the project and play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful delivery of the SCADA system. Responsibilities Manage legacy SCADA database conversion, establishing methodology, test scenarios, defining key conversion indicators and can manage a team of SMEs performing the work. Ability to create scripts as required for data massaging or tuning based on the clientvendor data requirements. Perform model validations with each deliverable from vendor. Ability to identify the scope of automation (eliminating manualduplication work) Work with vendor on determining the database quality metrics as needed and present those deliverables to client to make sure it meets the expectations. Effectively leverage product capability, driving standardization, limiting customization. Candidate should have the ability to communicate on a regular basis with end user customers on the client side and get the feedback. Provide support in testing the applications as needed and work closely with other SMEs. Managing the Database Track, including all aspects of the track, schedule, scope, risks and other issues Developing Statements of Work as needed to bring on additional consultant/vendor team members Working with the project manager providing clear and accurate weekly project reporting Acting as a champion to foster a positive project work environment; and successfully lead the database track to accomplish all the project objectives Maintain practices and procedures that support enterprise service management, governance, and regulatory processes Collaborate with various departments including Control Center Operations, EMS, SCADA, and IT Qualifications Requires a minimum of 8 years of experience related to Energy Management Systems/SCADA, software development, and operational support of real-time control systems Should have experience with one of the major EMS/SCADA vendors such as ABB, GE, OSII, Siemens is highly preferred. Preferred with candidate having background on scripting language like C#, Perl, Python, Java, SQL etc. Familiar with maintenance processes Experienced in the implementation and maintenance of large-scale SCADA systems running on a major vendor platform Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage multiple priorities and competing demands with tight timelines Strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to clearly present information to various audiences in both formal and informal settings Strong customer service focus with the proven ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with team members and internal and external stakeholders which includes excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills Ability to deploy a structured approach to problem solving and work practices Familiarity with systems development methodologies, requirements analysis, system design and testing methods Requires a bachelors degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science, related discipline, or equivalent experience Travel: Up to 25% travel throughout North America, although there may be some periods in the project where consecutive weeks of travel may be required. #LI-Remote EEO Statement TRC is an equal opportunity employer: disability/veteran.
