The Manufacturing Execution System (MES) architect will work in close conjunction with the MES application functional owners and will work to be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of the MES application to ensure the availability and consistent performance of Solumina across the global enterprise. This is a hands-on position requiring solid technical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The successful candidate will be the go-to person in charge of analyzing and recommending application operational enhancements on application and database servers – on prem and cloud. The candidate will be involved in making architectural decisions on load balancing, high availability, disaster recovery, storage architectures, and archival strategies. A key requirement is the ability to champion coordination on issue resolutions and Root Cause Analysis and follow through on implementing the identified changes. Strong organization skills and focus on customer success is required. Strong collaboration with vendor service providers in the design and development of MES Application using Enterprise Architecture Frameworks. Desirable to have an understanding of business components based on established architectural patterns for developed Java/JEE components, frameworks, and libraries. Candidate must be capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced agile environment. Responsibilities: 3-5 years of technical-functional experience leading vendors in full lifecycle application development .and technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for manufacturing operational issues. Experience collaborating and designing logical and physical view of solutions. Demonstrated experience of strong Systems Integration and applications/solutions planning and coordinating with infrastructure teams. Knowledge of Java technologies and Software Design Patterns: Java PaaS and all Java-based custom application solutions in alignment with architectural frameworks and strategy, solutions architecture, Java platforms. Experience with the following: IBM WebSphere Application Server, JBoss Application Server, Apache Tomcat, JavaScript Object Notation (JSON). Experience with JMX or other monitoring tools for Performance, Capacity, and Service protocols. Experience working with SQL and RDBMS products like Oracle, DB2, SQL Server. Knowledge of revision and build tools, such as, GIT, Maven, Ant, RTC, and SVN. Exposure with managing Java development projects in accordance with SDLC protocols and processes. Knowledge/Interest in AGILE software development model methodology estimation and sprint/scrum working style. Gather and present requirements for new features. Ability to effectively break down barriers to development progress. Excellent Technical, Communication and Interpersonal Skills with strong Customer Orientation and Client Interfacing Skills. Knowledge of Solumina is a plus. Basic Qualifications: Bachelors degree with 8+ years of experience OR and Advanced degree with 5+ years of experience. US citizenship required. ( Green card is not a US citizen.) Preferred Qualifications: Industry accreditations, (e.g. ITIL Foundation, Leading SAFE, Scrum Master certified). What is my role type? The salary range for this role is 94,000 USD – 196,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
