Job Description Job Title: Database Developer (Partial Remote) Job ID: 22-24571 Location: Columbus, OH Duration: 6 Months Job Vacancies: 1 Note: Only W2 (No Corp-to-Corp) Remote till Covid-19 Job Description Expert in in Database design technique as well as experience working across large environments with multiple operating systems/infrastructure for large-scale programs (e.g., Expert Engineers) starting to be firm-wide resources working on projects across Banking Is multi-skilled with expertise across software development lifecycle and toolset May be recognized as a leader in Agile and cultivating teams working in Agile frameworks Sought out as coach for at least one technical skill Strong understanding of techniques such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, Cloud Development, resiliency, security Stays abreast of cutting edge technologies/trends and uses experience to influence application of those technologies/trends to support the business Roles and Responsibilities: DB Engineer must possess the ability to create an efficient physical db design from a logical data model with capacity planning. Must be responsible for data modeling, normalization, and conceptual and logical design. DB Engineer must ensure that all data artifacts are compliant with Firmwide data management standards. DB Engineer must be able to translate a data model or logical database design into an actual physical database implementation and to manage that database once it has been implemented DB Engineer must implement an appropriate database backup and recovery strategy based on data volatility and application availability and regulatory requirements. Scheduling and executing Hygiene Maintenance tasks like update statistics, de-fragmentation, index health, repairs etc. are essential activities to ensure optimal database performance. DB Engineer must be able to proactively monitor the database environment and to make changes/recommendations for data structures, SQL, application logic or the DBMS subsystem to optimize performance. DB engineer must possess in-depth SQL knowledge so they can understand and review SQL and host language programs and to recommend changes for optimization. DB Engineer will need to possess procedural skills to help design, debug, implement, and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions that are stored in the DBMS. DB Engineer should ensure that only authorized users have access to data.
