We are currently seeking a Cloud Data Platform Architect – Remote to join our team in Mclean, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US). Duties: Proficiency in AWS cloud platform and knowledge of their data-related services. Designing data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data pipelines, to meet business needs. Ensuring the data platform can scale as the organization’s data volume and processing requirements grow. Implementing robust security measures to protect sensitive data, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with data privacy regulations. Creating ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources into the platform. Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the data platform to ensure fast query response times and efficient data processing. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts, to understand data requirements and deliver solutions. Managing cloud resources efficiently to control costs while meeting data processing needs. Maintaining comprehensive documentation of the data platform’s architecture, processes, and configurations. Implementing disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure data availability in case of failures. Keeping up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud data management. Effectively communicating the architecture and benefits of the data platform to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Requirements: Minimum 10+ years of total Experience in Cloud solution/data Analytics/Platform architecture. Minimum of 5+ years of hands-on experience with Big Data Hadoop programming using Java/Scala/python Spark. Deep understanding of AWS service offerings – EC2, EMR, S3, Cloud database, Lambda, Glue, Athena, IAM etc Good knowledge on spark architecture Familiarity with data loading tools like Talend, and Sqoop – Familiarity with cloud databases like AWS Redshift, and Aurora MySQL. Familiarity of Apache Zeppelin/EMR Notebook. Knowledge of workflow/schedulers like Oozie or Apache AirFlow.
