Description : DRB Systems (DRB) is the leading provider of technology-enabled devices and software solutions to the North American car wash industry. We are seeking a native Android mobile app software engineer (Java) with hands-on experience in all aspects of the Android app development lifecycle, to join our fun, industry-leading technology company in the car wash industry. Collaborate with internal teams to customize and deploy white-label Android mobile applications at scale while working in a fast-paced environment. Seek ways to optimize the native Android (Java) app codebase for large numbers of individually branded mobile apps to support car wash operators and their customers around the globe. Stay on top of latest Android app development trends while also keeping up to date with terminology, concepts, and best practices for coding native Android mobile apps in Java. Job Responsibilities: Manage full software development life cycle including development, testing, and deployment. Perform product design, bug verification, and beta support which may require research and analysis. Troubleshoot and solve complex software issues. Research technical problems and suggest improvements to the Android white-label platform code base. Develop for Android OS in Java. Write to new application programming interfaces (APIs) to enhance mobile functionality. Remain up to date with the terminology, concepts, and best practices for coding native mobile apps, including upcoming Android OS updates that could impact existing apps. Work closely with colleagues to constantly innovate app functionality and design. Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions. Requirements: BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject preferred, however, will consider experience or demonstrated knowledge in lieu of a degree. 5-7 years of experience in the field. Strong hands-on knowledge of Java and all aspects of the Android app development lifecycle. Experience working with XML-based user-interface editors for Android apps. Example(s) of released production application(s) on the Google Play Store. Familiarity with OOP design principles and design patterns. Experience with third-party libraries (frameworks) and APIs. Superior analytical skills with a good problem-solving attitude. Excellent communication skills; team-focused; detail-oriented.
